Friends of the Library Donates $100,000 in 2022!

The Whittier Public Library received a gift of $100,000 from the Friends of the Whittier Public Library! In prior years the Friends have donated the revenue received at the Friends Bookstore to the Whittier Public Library for programs like the Summer Reading Club.

Mayor Joe Vinatieri and Library Director Paymaneh Maghsoudi congratulated Friends President Selma Minerd, Bookstore Manager John Marziliano, and the Friends Bookstore volunteers.

The Friends Bookstore, located on the corner of Bailey and Comstock in Uptown Whittier, offers pre-owned books of all genres, CDs, DVDs, and magazines. It is staffed by friendly volunteers diligently intent on helping customers find one-of-a kind treasures. The Bookstore is open Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday 10:00 – 2:00.
